Kong?: Kong toys (also sold under the Tuffy? label) are made of rubber, apparently they say they just upgraded to a new space-age rubber that's even better quality. ! For teeth, they're soft and safe and won't break the teeth.

Be sure to buy the correct one for Westie's (Small dogs). And note that there are red and black varieties. The black ones are incredibly durable, for power chewers. Some dogs may not enjoy chewing rubber, though, but may enjoy playing with these oddly-bouncing toys.

You can also stuff treats in the middle to get the dog to chew them !

Dental Kong?: This soft, durable toy actually helps clean below the gum line.

It does an excellent job of cleaning there, as it has fine ridges that get up under the edge of the gum tissue. The Dental Kong also has a rope that helps clean the back teeth as the dog chews.
