Flies
Generally flies are parasites, they suck the blood from animals (Which
may be deceased) and pass it on to another animal.
Like mosquitoes, who
sometimes cause even more problems (See heart worm)
Of the approximately 23 species of Glossina recognized, all but three
will transmit trypanosomes of mammals. Several species are particularly
important vectors of African sleeping sickness in humans.
Fly Parasites
These kill pest flies by laying their eggs inside living fly pupae, which
then hatch and eat the pupae Fly species, effectively controlled include the
common house fly, stable fly, blow fly, face fly, and horn fly, along with
many others. Parasites live about 3-4 weeks, and each one kills up to 50
pest flies. |
