Hookworm

This microscopic blood sucking worm lives in the intestines. It can
cause serious bleeding.
A thick round worm only 2cm long which lives in the dogs small intestine.
The
hookworm larvae may invade the skin causing dermatitis. The main cause of
infection is ingestion of the larvae.
May cause diarrhoea and since the worm
lives in the blood they can also cause anaemia. The hookworm can be controlled by
strict hygiene measures and regular worming.
